A Bit About Sue

Susan has been singing since the age of 4 years old, she was then introduced to the children’s church choir at the sweet age of 6 years old. Susan’s love of gospel music and the church led her to Covenant Church of Pittsburgh, where for 12 years she was a worship leader, also singing regularly on Corner Stone television. Susan has performed at the famous Wembley area in London during a gospel conference in England.

Susan has the love for music, not just any music but a sound that filled her soul, she didn’t know the sound but found out later it was the smooth sound of Jazz and R&B. Susan would spend many Saturdays sittings in the old barber shop in Penn Hills shopping center in an old leather chair with the sweet smell of Bay Rum and Music that was intoxicating to her. The sounds of legendary singers, Cole Porter, Etta James, Nancy Wilson, Billie Holliday, Charlie Parker, would be the influences for her career, just to mention a few.

Susan became a Lead vocalist for Studio E. Entertainment owned by Kim and Gary Racan of Greenburgh, PA, singing at balls, galas, weddings, and Nemacolin Resort for 13 years and the list goes on.

Susan regularly preformed at the LeMont, and many other establishments in the Pittsburgh area to entertain the dining clients with the soft sound of a classy style of music, that so many people do love.

Susan is also a member of the Pittsburgh Jazz society where she has performed with some of the area’s finest musicians.

Susan’s cousin, Kenny Rankin, is one of the most important jazz influences to her, in his style of singing and song writing for some of the best.
